Today are the two ponds connected with the stream flowing in the chateau park. The retained remains of town walls you can see from the dike of the Ulický Pond or from Hradební Street. To the south-east the ponds were connected with a ditch on the ihned side of which were the towns double walls and the Interspace served as a moat. Futher-more it was also equipped with cylindrical bastions facing the direction to the ditch. The last preserved bastion can be seen from Krátká Street at the Upper Gate along the moat which is now a little shallower than it used to be you go through Na Parkáně Street. The stone bridges across the moat appeared as late as at the end of the 18th century after the breaking through the town walls (opposite the Na Můstku Street) or at the begining of the 20th century (opposite the formel synagogu) respectively.
