The Club of Friends of Music in Telč, founded in 1978. It puts on concerts of serious music during the whole season, i.e. between September and June.
- The Club helps to preserve the high standard of serious music performances in the region by inviting famous performers from both the region itself and from outside the region. The good reputation of the shows attracts audience from a large area of neighbouring Czech and Moravian districts.
- The activities of the Club of Friends of Music in Telč is primarily sponsored by the town of Telč, by the Foundation of the Czech Music Fund, by the Foundation of Leoš Janáček in Brno, and finally by the Foundation of Bohuslav Martinů in Prague.
- The Club of Friends of Music closely cooperates with the Faculty of Music of the Janáček Academy of Music, Drama and Fine Arts in Brno. Thanks to this cooperation Telč was able to host many artists of international renown such as the Janáček quartet, the Borodin Quartet, the Smetana Quartet, the Medici Quartet of London, Ars Revidiva, and from among the individuals, e.g. Josef Suk, Bohumil Smejkal, František Novotný, Sviatoslav Richet, Ivan Kusnjer, Jaroslav Tůma and Magdaléna Blahušiaková.
- The Club also backs the organization of the French-Czech Music Academy, thanks to which the best Czech performers are invited to Telč. They include both young promising artists such as V. Borovka, Y. Veniš, J. Brabec, J. Thuri, Roman Paročka, but also more experienced artist including the singers Magdaléna Kožená, Vladimír Chmel, Y. Tannenbergová, Monika Brychtová, Richard Haan, Marta Beňačková, Y. Shokal, A. Beňo. Z. Plech. But also renowned instrumentalists are frequent guests of the Club: Jiří Bárta, Pavel Šporcl, Jitka Čechová, Jan Páleníček, Štěpán Kos, Jan Král, Martin Kasík, or Jan Jiraský. The chamber ensembles coming to the town include the Nostitz Quartet, the Walinger Quartet, the Bennewitz Quartet, the Adamus Trio, the American Horn Quartet, the Pearl Trio, or the Fagotti Brunensis.
- Each season includes an evening performance combining literature (esp. poetry recitation) and music, hosting such major actresses and actors as R. Lukavský, G. Vránová, L. Chudík, O. Brousek st., L. Lakomý, I. Valešová, L. Havelkoví, and D. Richterová. The Club of Friend of Music in Telč also sponsors six trips annually to major opera and symphony concert productions in bigger cities: the country’s capital of Prague, or in the regional capitals of Brno or České Budějovice.
- In the course of the past 27 concert seasons the Club of Friends of Music in Telč has put on 280 concerts, 16 “literary evenings“, 6 chamber operas and four plays.
